Energy efficiency

Reducing emissions

The Coswell Group has implemented a series of initiatives to improve the energy efficiency of its plants and production processes. Optimizing its industrial processes and adopting advanced energy management technologies have allowed it to reduce its electricity consumption and Scope 2 emissions.

In 2024, we activated a photovoltaic system at our Incos and Coswell sites. This was a significant step towards self-producing energy from renewable sources, reducing grid dependence, which makes a tangible contribution to Italy's energy transition.

Plant and Site Certification

Our plants and production sites boast a robust certification system that guarantees the highest standards of quality, safety and environmental responsibility.

Our certifications cover the entire spectrum of corporate activities and responsibilities, from quality management to environmental protection, and from good manufacturing practices for cosmetics to the exacting standards required by the medical device sector.

Use of eco-friendly and mono-materials

In 2024, Coswell continued its commitment to reducing the environmental impact of its packaging by prioritising more sustainable materials. We select certified suppliers and choose packaging made from recycled and recyclable materials that comply with FSC, PEFC, Ecoprint, and 100% Green Energy standards.

This increased the overall volume of recycled materials used to 24% of the total, up from 20% achieved the previous year. As a company, we continue to pursue a balance between efficiency and environmental responsibility by adopting a continuous improvement-based approach.

Packaging optimisation research and development

In 2024, we invested in research into product packaging solutions with a low environmental impact, through a holistic approach that considered the product’s entire life cycle.

Key initiatives included: downsizing bottles, perfecting toothpaste tubes, introducing liquid soap refill formats and the launch of a solid sunscreen packaged in a tin.

All these actions stemmed from a desire to reduce material consumption without compromising product quality or user experience.
